Our little baby is changing every day! He is so much more alert each day and is getting better at looking around and following movement. So adorable. I love his big, dark eyes.
On a less exciting note, he still won't take a dummy, but is liking to suck. At times he'll sit on my boob for over an hour, sucking happily away, even though there is no more milk coming out, before I pull him off to give my poor boob a rest. Gonna go dummy shopping tomorrow to see if I can find a different brand/style that he might like better.
how did you go? there are so many out there so be interesting to see what he does and doesnt like!
ReplyDeleteWell, I went to show people today how he doesn't take it... he was sleeping at the time. Stuck it in and although he didn't suck, it stayed in there! He had really bad gas today, so when he woke up we managed to keep the dummy in and he started to suck! Yay! So haven't got any other dummies, we'll keep trying these ones.
ReplyDeleteCaught up with my Auntie Helen today. Both of her babies were really windy bubs, and she gave me some great tips for getting the gas moving. She said how the sucking helps relax them and showed me how to hold the dummy in, keep the legs bent and rub his back (anti-clockwise on back or clockwise on tummy). So hopefully now he won't be wanting to sit on my boob for so long!
sorry to hear he' turning out so windy, Lizzie is a bit but nothing like Susie was but I totally empathise with you. I think cause Susie was so bad Lizzie's wind problems is easier to cope with. have to cut back on dairy again, been creeping up how much I eat and its noticeable in Lizzie. hope Cooper's tummy settles quickly xoxo
ReplyDeletebaby massage can help too. does the Base still offer the free class?if so - join! it was awesome :)
Yep, gonna call the Base today.
ReplyDeleteWondering if Cooper was so bad yesterday because I ate oranges and mandarins in the morning. I had heard they can affect bubs, and since they gave me such bad indigestion during pregnancy, I was avoiding them. Caved yesterday tho, as I love them so much. But if it makes him that miserable, it isn't worth it. Wish I knew for sure, but I'm a bit nervous to try oranges again!
yes it's so hard working out what foods cause problems, spec cause you don't want to make them sore by trying again!
